Swedish fashion powerhouse H&M have announced a new “signature” exclusive and limited edition collection with Rabanne house, founded by the late Spanish designer Paco Rabanne. The collection will include both fashion and decoration pieces that will go on sale on November 9, 2023, as reported by Fashion United.
The official announcement was made during Paris fashion week in September and the collection is being created under the creative direction of renowned French designer Julien Dossena, one of the last to design for French Haute-Couture house, Jean Paul Gaultier. Dossena expressed excitement to work on the development of a collection inspired by the avante-garde energy that has guided Rabanne, while noting its more affordable price point under H&M. He has always been interested in exploring hedonism and empowerment, revealing some themes of this upcoming collaborative collection. H&M creative director, Ann-Sofie Johansson, notes Rabanne metallic dresses are “instantly recognizable pieces of fashion history” and that H&M is delighted to offer a dazzling array of Rabanne designs to customers from this collaboration.
The presentation event saw a stream of A-listers in attendance at the Parisian nightclub “Silencio,” with many showing off some of the key garments of this collection before they go on sale. The names include special guest Cher along with Irina Shayk, Jared Leto, Damson Idris, Elle Fanning and Ashley Graham. Dossena noted the playful and mischievous tone of the unique fashion collaboration, saying “I always want people to feel liberated when they wear our clothes.” The collection was described by Johansson as “spectacular” and “versatile.”
